The anti-Candida diet

The studies at our disposal have not yet shown a direct connection between the anti-Candida diet and a “cure”.

These studies have even shown the risk of developing malnutrition if this diet is carried out without any follow-up.

The vaginal pH does not change with the diet since it is regulated by numerous physiological mechanisms (hormonal, hepatic, renal, etc). If it is true that a “tendentially alkalizing” diet can help in case of cystitis, this does not apply to the vaginal pH.

The “anti-Candida” diet can be followed, but should not be excessively strict. Our advice is to include certain foods in the diet that can help to fight Candida without eliminating some foods definitely.

How to take care of the intestinal flora

– at least 1 portion (between 150 and 250 g) of fruit or fresh vegetable at each meal (breakfast and snacks included)

– at least 1 portion of whole grains (50 g of bread or 80 g of pasta or 80 g of rice) per day

=> OMEGA 3 AND 6:

– at least 1 portion (30 g) of dried fruit per day

– at least 3 portions (from 100 to 150 g) of fish per week, alternating between blue and white fish

– try to vary the oil depending on the season (olive oil, seed oil, sesame oil, etc.)

How to help to recover the vaginal flora

– at least 1 yogurt (natural or not), but better 2 per day (from 125 to 150 g)

How to reduce inflammation

– at least 1 portion (100 g) every week or 15 days of organs (kidneys, liver, etc.)

– at least 1 portion (120 g approx.) of shellfish every week or every 15 days

– at least 1 portion (from 10 to 50 g depending on the type) of cheese per day

– fresh fruit and vegetables

– 1 natural orange juice (without sugar)

Some other considerations

Candida needs iron to develop (of course we cannot deprive ourselves of iron!)

Lactoferrin can seize iron to make it available only to our body

– the only food source of Lactoferrin is milk, but it contains very little quantity. For those who tolerate it well, it is useful to take 1 glass of milk per day and supplement the diet with Lactoferrin (Lactoferrin helps lactose digestion too)

– it is also advisable to use probiotics with lactobacilli
